About
Friendship Theatre

Theatre is an amazing opportunity to step out of our own worlds and be transformed into something else. Through theatre we can learn about the world, life, friendship and ultimately ourselves. Unified Theatre will give students with special needs an opportunity to express themselves in new and unique ways, break down stereotypes that others may have of them, connect with new people, grow socially and communicatively, and experience the magic of theatre.

This will encourage children of all ages to step away from their screens, open up, have a voice, work as a team, and ultimately give all children the opportunity to work together, with their peers, to put on a production of a small show.  It will help children find their voice and give children an outlet to express themselves.

Our project is a theatre initiative geared to unify ALL students in order to put on a play. Theatre has helped each of us meet new people, express ourselves in new ways, and gain an overall sense of accomplishment and confidence. We want to extend this opportunity to all students and work together with one another to aid each other in finding their voices through theatre

Our Team

Ryan Benvenuto, Sofia Yaker and Scarlett Dellacona are 8th grade students at Lynbrook South Middle School. They have been involved in theatre since the 5th grade at a variety of levels. They are actively involved in their school as members of teams, clubs, organizations and community service programs.  They have also been in Girl Scouts since Kindergarten and are looking forward to completing their Silver Award

Jaiden Moreno is an 8th grade student at Lynbrook South Middle School who is volunteering his time to direct the show. Jayden is a theatre stalwart, appearing and starring in many plays both in school and in private productions. We are lucky to have him.

JP Costello has generously volunteered his time to work on this music for the show

This wouldn't be possible without the generous donation from MTI (Music Theatre International) who donated the entire script package to help us provide this service free of charge to the entire community!!
